Aries 30

Ducks in Sculpture Garden Pond, 1975

Visitors to the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in June not only saw Aristide Maillol's Nymph but also this wild mallard duck, proudly swimming with her young. A pair of mallards surprisingly had made the garden their home

Perhaps a slightly different perspective from that which most are used
to looking at regarding Kundalini.

If one puts aside the Literal doctrine surrounding many of the stories
that surround Kundalini on both the web and in text books and looks
beyond the words at the essence of what is written ...

If one has a close look at the Taoist Healing Philosophies;

If one looks closely at the Ancient Chinese Acupuncture meridian
system ...

If one looks into the Japanese Healing arts

If one looks very closely at a Western Medical Encylopaedia

If one looks at some of the latest advancements in Medical Research
... including microbiology and Neorology

AND

If one finds a common Essence and lays this over all of these
modalities one would find that there is a very simple explanation for
the whole mythology surrounding Kundalini, its cause, its rising, the
timing of its awakening and ALL of the physical, mental, psychological
and psychic symptoms that people experience .. and which are commonly
attributed to Kundalini.

Having perused some of the comments on this list and gone back through
the archives, there is not one single experience that cannot be
directly explained in relatively plain English.

AND .. its all so simple ... when one understands the real essence of
what is stored in Muladhara and the significance of this Chakra.

Even the "Chakra System" finds a rational plain English explanation in
terms of both the Central Nervous System and certain significant
Acupuncture points ...

Kundalini (so called) will awaken .. it must, the moment the mind
loses control of the body and it must also awaken from the base chakra
...

It will flow through the body - up a central channel .. it must - if
you understand what the Central Channel really means ..

You will experience all sorts of physical, mental and emotional
symptoms you must, and you will understand how and why if you
understand the relationships between the organs of the body, their
personality, and the meridians that connect them.

You will also experience "psychic" symptoms as the energy from the
Muladhara links with the Ajna ... you must, and you will understand if
you can understand the nature of the Pineal Gland and its role in the
Physiology of the body in Harmony.

You may go mad - or get very sick if you start to look on this as some
"Spiritual" Awakening for the simple reason ...

Kunda - the energy of the pot in the earth .. is the feminine
principle of life in its physical existence .. and the life-force of
every cell in your body and, it has a life of its own ...

Kunda, Cunti, Kunti .. in all her variations of nomenclature is Home
.. your centeredness ... in your physicality. Without that
physicality, mind can not exist (except through resonance with a
sympathetic DNA in a living relative)

and when the whole body is in balance .. only when all of the
Meridians have balanced themselves

will there be a link between Muladhara, Ajna and the Sino Atrial Node
... which is the mysterious 8th Chakra.

Now - the funny thing is ...

the energy of the mind is (masculine) centripetal or densifying and
compacting the energy of your life-force (feminine) is centrifugal or
expanding and dedensifying ..

and the centre of the base chakra contains the memory of the moment
that the sperm entered the egg and this resulted in your conception
....

So, Kundalini is about the expansion of possibilities, about life's
conception of itself - and your conception of your own self ...

in spite of what your mother and father were thinking at the time ...

and this memory is stored in the very tips of the bones that make up
your pelvic floor - joined by your Perineum.

BTW ...

it takes 10 milliseconds for a signal from the body to reach the brain
and, for the average person, it takes 500 milliseconds for the
conscious mind to get an intellectual grasp of what is happening and
750 millisecond of thought re-imprints the opposite of what you are
consciously thinking back into your body

So .. the only "therapy" for a so-called "Kundalini" awakening is
understanding and accepting ... that what you are experiencing is your
own inner self trying to live in harmony with its self
... and your
mind is the last to know.

Oh ... and a cell will mutate as far as necessary in order to survive
in its environment ... and your mind provides part of that
environment.

the Kundalini Sutras were a medical document, not a Spiritual Teaching
and Buddhist Teachings provide a plain, old fashioned Psychology Text
which, when understood in their wholeness, are very accurate according
to the most recent studies and findings.

Simplicity cannot be overwhelmed. Mind can be

The Way-Inn

Sabian Symbol
Pisces 4: Heavy traffic on a narrow isthmus
Monomoira: Venus

By the true causeway of imagination
You'll come to your destination.

A cause makes a way; a way may require a cause., or provide one.  The word "causeway" derives from the Old English “causey way”, meaning a thoroughfare that has been “heeled” or “trampled” down. A causeway is typically a road raised above surrounding water or wetlands. Causeway" derives from the Old English “causey way”, meaning a thoroughfare that has been “heeled” or “trampled” down. A causeway is typically a road raised above surrounding water or wetlands.

The longest in the world is the Ponchartrain “bridge” in Louisiana. Singapore and Malaysia are joined by a causeway. Churchill had five causeways built - the Churchill barriers - linking the Orkney islands around Scapa Flow as defense against the German navy in WW2. Dykes in Holland are sometimes also causeways.

Consider the “isthmus of imagination” described by the medieval Sufi master Ibn 'Arabi. For Ibn 'Arabi, imagination is the isthmus (barzakh) between the ordinary world and the world of eternity, between body and spirit, and between being and nothingness.

To walk this causeway requires discipline, practice and discernment. On the way of true imagination, higher beings become visible and intelligible. Imagination has the power “to embody that which is not properly a body.”

Isthumus, Supreme

(Al Barzakh al'Ala). This is the Great Isthmus standing between Allah and nothingness. It is known by various names. Nondelimited Imagination, The Cloud, The Breath of the All Merciful, The Real Through Whom Creation Takes Place, The Universal Reality, Nature, The Reality of the Perfect Man.

Polarity Degree
Virgo 4:
A coloured child playing with white children
Monomoira: Jupiter

Yesterday I was shopping at the NQR Food Market and served by a young woman about 18 or 19 wearing a short-sleeved top which displayed her amazing array of tattoos; body art. She was like that Tattooed Lady at the circus and had a ring through her nose. What I found interesting is that her tattoos were old-fashioned, not the trendy tribal designs and they were beautiful and so colourful. I couldn't take my eyes off the red rose in fullbloom in her forearm. I wondered if she was a performing artist when she wasn't the register jockey at NQR (which stands for Not Quite Right). As I left, I was surprised that she hadn't been told to cover-up: to wear longsleeve shirts as used to be the drill in my youth. Heavy tattoos, face jewellery and other expressions of individuality are considered significant barriers to gaining employment within conservatively-minded workplaces. Clearly NQR is more accepting and doesn't judge a book by its cover.

My natal Chiron is at 4 degrees Pisces and meeting that young woman has given me a completely fresh perspective on these degrees. I am finding that applying Valens' Monomoira correspondences of the classical planets to the degree symbols is pulling me into deeper dreaming with the elemental archetypal energies of the Sabian Symbols.

Burning Down the House

In ancient astrological techniques, the Via Combusta (fiery road) was regarded as a dangerous section of the chart.  Modern horary astrologists still defer judgment when the Moon is situated in the burning zone, which the 15th Century Italian philosopher and humanis, Marsilio Ficino, suggested lay between 28 degrees Libra and 3 degrees Scorpio.  Some astrologists say the parameters are 26 degrees Libra and 6 degrees Scorpio, while an all-too-neat definition, offers 15 degrees Libra to 15 degrees Scorpio.

The Via Combusta has been given a malevolent reputation and with my natal third house Neptune on the edge of the scorch zone in Scorpio, I can say without doubt, that any and all my illusions, ideals and fantasies have been incinerated. Such is the path of the Mystic; all that is false, contrived and Egoic is ripe for destruction in this glowing bonfire of vanities...aaah, vanity; it's my favourite sin.

Definitely my most favourite movie quote: The Devil's Advocate

As the movie ended, the Devil, played by Al Pacino, stated, “Vanity is my favorite sin.” The wicked smile and stare rang true because most of us know that vanity and ego can corrupt us all. Human frailties can easily be seen in others. Although, when we look inward, vanity can be difficult to expose. There are many types of vanities. ~ George Gurney
Let's take a closer look at the Ficino alpha and omega points of the Via Combusta through the lens of the Sabian Symbols.

Libra 28: A man in the midst of brightening influences
Scorpio 3: A house-raising

Telling, is it not, of the transformative potential inherent in the Via Combusta?  There is nothing to fear - except fear itself....perhaps.  That great Imposter.

In the Hyperion Series of symbols created by Gavin Kent McClung (who was a student of Marc Edmund Jones), he offers the following:

Libra 28: The Statue of Liberty
Scorpio 3: Two masters teaching one another wisdom

Between the Sabian Symbols and the Hyperion Series are four keywords:

Responsiveness * Helpfulness * Revolution * Confirmation
Last but certainly not least, we have the deeply esoteric Kozminsky Symbols, that pre-date the Sabian Symbols and the Hyperion Series and which were created by Isidore Kozminsky, born in Australia of Prussian Jewish parentage.  Reputed to have been a leading member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

In the Kozminsky Symbols, we find:

Libra 28: . A mass of quartz through which veins of fine gold can be traced
Scorpio 3:  Blacksmith striking anvil, the impact causing a dazzling display of bright light.

Two more keywords: Exertion and Penetration

The Correspondence of Bushfire

Basically a bushfire is the combustion or burning of bush, forest or woodland area. Bushfires are natural phenomena most common in Australia. Most people aren't aware of the fact that fire is one of the major tools that has shaped this continent we call Australia...and it is still shaping it.

Aborigines had the ability to care for land which enabled them to conserve and protect the flora and fauna, especially through their fire management practices. Europeans had no understanding of the land and treated it as treasure trove of goodies instead of a fragile environment and also stopped the traditional owners from caring for it.

The Passage of Fire

Consider that planets, asteroids, Transneptunians and other hypothetical points that fall into the zone of your natal chart, between Libra 28 and Scorpio 3 - (or Libra 15-Scorpio 15 for the masochists) - indicate where you will make your passage through fire.  Have the greater potential to experience a Phoenix Process.

We can take guidance and heart from Earth Wisdom. In Australia, many plants have been observed to flower prolifically a year or two after a bushfire. Fire brings an otherwise unseen abundance.

The Degree Symbols and their keywords offer guidance as to how to approach an analysis of the Via Combusta energies within one's natal chart and transits, and may be especially relevant in the interpretation of synastry and composite charts.

Not to be overlooked is the Polarity Via Combusta between 28 degrees Aries and 3 degrees Taurus: sifting through the 'ashes' may well uncover another nugget of gold or, perhaps, a piece of amber that when burned gives off a scent of pine.  Pining. Mayhaps the 'burning path' is also the 'weeping path'?

My pleasant things in ashes lie
And them behold no more shall I.
Under the roof no guest shall sit,
Nor at thy Table eat a bit.
No pleasant talk shall 'ere be told
Nor things recounted done of old.
No Candle 'ere shall shine in Thee,
Nor bridegroom's voice ere heard shall bee.
In silence ever shalt thou lie.
Adieu, Adieu, All's Vanity.
